At my site, the school works as a team to help educate out students. We have grade level teams that help support each other by collaborating and trying out best to meet the needs of every child. We come up with ideas and share strategies to help build rapport with out students. This helps us make that connection to get our students motivated to do learn on their own. |
Students need to learn how to be successful and overcome challenges. Lately, students make quick decisions that’s not helpful in letting them grow as an individual. One of my students said she was tired and decided not to do anything in all of her classes for weeks. She kept falling behind and now has a large load of work that makes her feel like she is a failure. This will lead to my student not being able to overcome her challenges and give up in the long run. I believe this is where I can come in and help motivate her by giving tips, ideas and strategies to overcome the challenges she had and become successful instead of a failure. |
School for me as a student and a teacher may differ from the way you see what school is for. Growing up in a family who lived off welfare and has just enough to survive the week effects the way I see school. As a student, I see school as an opportunity to change my life, to change my family tree and make something of myself not just for me but also for others. School is where I can give a meaning to my life by giving back to the community. School is a place that gives and never takes. Some of the things you get are not only curriculums for reading, writing or math but also life skills. Such as, the ability to communicate, make connections and grow not only as an individual but as diverse group of individuals. As a teacher, I have the opportunity to make a difference in my students lives. School gives us an opportunity to change the direction of your life including others around you.
